2 years later cont'd

Alright, I'm back in San Fran now and just finished up a session of 50nlhe full ring. not a bad session but not a great one either, finished +$10 after 1.1k hands. But I did start out getting raped and managed to get myself back to even. Guess its a good thing im getting rakeback and earning iron man status/points or id feel like id be doing all this for nothing.

So I left off my last entry after winning my Main Event seat and took the cash. But I did end up using that money to fly out to Billoxi, Mississippi for a small series of poker tournaments there and to meet up with my online buddy ForRealDD. Billoxi is sickkkk! It's a mini Bellagio, the people are great, the staff really knows how to treat the players, Hotel is bomb diggity, and its cheap if your playing in the poker tournaments. But outside of the hotel and the Hard Rock Casino next door, their aint shit else to do. But when theres a Casino downstairs complete with blackjack, craps, and roulette... what more do you need ;)

So we played the first 3 days of tournaments and I busted all the majors about just more than halfway through the field when I got bad beated etc etc etc. I told a rather large lady in a wheel chair that she was a f*in joke, w/e. Hmmm what else? I won like 3 satellite entries to the daily events so I basically broke even. And then, of course Hurricane Gustav comes and runs us out of Town. So gay. Me and DD had to stay up all night trying to find a rental car company to rent us a car so we could get the F out of the way of the hurricane. We finally got one and drove 10 frikin hours to Dallas, Tx where I spent the night at a holiday inn and caught a flight back to SF the next day.

After that, idk what happened to me mentally but I guess I subconsciously decided to take the rest of the year off. I still played mtts all the time, but I never could get into a rythm or groove and get a good cash to save my life. I guess I was kinda just going through the motions and not really caring all that much about what happened. I got too comftorable with having my biggest bankroll ever, and thought it would never go away. That I would always get a score that would replenish whatever I spent.

So like any other 23 year old with money, I went and bought me a but load of toys. LCD HDTV, ps3, new desk, new monitor, new chair, new entertainment center, and a drum set. I went nuts. But I don't regret any bit of it. I enjoy all of those things and get tons of good use out of them.

Fast Forward to today, and my BR is hurting so to speak. I still got enough to try and grind it back up comftorably, but I definately waited to long to get this ball rolling again. And After 2-3 straight years of grinding nothing but mtt's and some sng's (never touching cash games), I finally realized that I was burnt out on tournaments.

So I found cash games again. Well NLHE anyway. And so far after 3 months of grinding really hard, studying up, and trying to transform myself into a nlhe player again, I'm having a bit of success. ATM I am at 35,000 hands and having a win rate of 7.5bb/100. not bad, but I expect that to get better the more I study and the more experience I get in nlhe.

so thats it for now, Me and JC be updating our blogs errry day now so check it out.

ALOHA
